June will be a very busy month! Help us celebrate Senior’s Week from June 3rd through June 9th. We will be celebrating seniors with our annual Recognition Social on Tuesday June 5th from 2:30 – 3:30 pm. Please join us in celebrating our wonderful community of seniors that live in our community of AgeCare Glenmore. Nellie McClung School children will be coming to perform for us as well on Wednesday June 6th at 10:00 am.

To help us celebrate Father’s Day we will be hosting The Model A Car club volunteers to come and show off their beautiful antique vehicles (weather permitting). This will be on Tuesday June 12th from 2:00 through 3:30 in the front parking lot. The alternate date for the cars to come if weather does not cooperate will be Monday June 18th same time.

Our Canada Day Celebration this year with the Canada Day Bus Committee will be on Tuesday July 26th at 1:00pm.

As for shopping you may want to watch for some new vendors we are hosting in June:

VOXXLIFE SOCK N’ SOLE Company will be here on June 5th from 11:00 through 3:00pm in the Atrium. If you want to have gift baskets made up for someone special in your life or for an occasion, BUMBLE BEE BASKETS INC. will be here on Tuesday June 19th from 2:00 through 4:00 pm.

Thank you to all the families and residents who came to support our Spring Tea and Vendors Market before Mother’s Day. We appreciate your support. This fundraiser allows us to add to our Recreation programming. Thank you to our Volunteers, Kitchen staff and vendors who joined us this year as well. You helped to make this event a big success.

With spring here and summer fast approaching we will be taking many of our programs and entertainment outdoors when weather and insects are reasonable. We ask that families make sure to have their loved one’s favorite hat available for these times. We do have a hat bag at the Recreation room if needed, but sometimes it is nice to have your own.

We are looking for family friendly DVD’s to put around on neighborhoods for families and residents to watch on weekends and evenings. If you have any you wish to donate, we would love to have them and will put them around to access. They may go missing so we only want ones you may be finished with just in case. Please bring them to the Recreation office. Thank you!

If you need anything or want to speak to someone in recreation, please come to the RT office or the Social room. Maybe you have suggestions or have an in with an entertainer. We would love to hear from you. We are located at the first left from the front reception desk.
