Featured Bands:

ADAM LAMBERT

Since his appearance on American Idol Adam Lambert has hit global stardom, selling over 2 millions copies of his debut album For Your Entertainment and performing around the world. Lambert’s love of performing began at the age of ten when he was cast in his first theater and continued until eventually he made his way to San Francisco, auditioned for American Idol and made it as a finalist. Now a Grammy nominated Alice artist, he made history as the first openly gay male artist when his latest album, Trespassing hit No. 1 on the Billboard top 200.  In a recent interview with Sarah & Vinnie, Adam credited Alice as being the first station in the country to play music off of the new album. Adam will headline this year’s Summerthing.

SCARS ON 45

Hailing from the UK, Scars on 45 has had an interesting beginning. Co-founder Danny Bemrose became “kind of addicted” to writing songs after his dream of playing professional soccer was put on hold. The rest of the band fell into place and soon their music was being featured on shows such as CSI: New York and later Grey’s Anatomy. Their first EP Give Me Something was released in January 2011 and their single Hearts on Fire was chosen as the theme for Grey’s Anatomy fall season promo campaign. Their first full-length self-titled album was released in April 2012.

REBECCA FERGUSON

Rebecca Ferguson is a shining example of why no one should give up on their dreams, no matter what life throws at them. A single mother of two by the age of 19 in Liverpool, England, many thought Rebecca wouldn’t make it as a singer or song-writer. She proved many naysayers wrong by auditioning for the X-Factor and eventually making it as a runner-up on the show. Even Adele herself voted for Rebecca “over 80 times.” Her debut Album Heaven was just released and her single “Nothing’s Real But Love” has received glowing reviews in the UK.  She is poised to take the US by storm having appeared on “The Today Show” and “The View” and will make her first US concert appearance ever at Alice’s Summerthing.

GRAFFITI6

Growing up in homes filled with soul and funk music, Jamie Scott and TommyD of Graffiti6 used their musical influences to make an equally funky, soulful, and fun debut album titled Colours. Both were already semi-successful in their respective music careers in the U.K. before forming their vibrant band. Jamie released a solo album in 2006 and TommyD remixed tracks and arranged and orchestrated concerts and recordings for artists such as Adele, Noel Gallagher, Jay-Z, and Kanye West. Hitting is off right away, the duo produced a collaborative album that would produce hits such as their latest single “Free” and their music has already been featured on several television shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, One Tree Hill, and CSI: New York.

VICCI MARTINEZ

Vicci Martinez doesn’t hold back when it comes to her music. Learning to play the violin at age six, Vicci eventually trading on stringed instrument for another, she began to write songs on her guitar and her dad was impressed by her first written song and decided she needed to pursue music as a career. She began releasing music on her own in 2003 and toured for almost a decade sharing the stage with artists such as Annie Lennox, Sting, and Jonny Lang. In 2011, Vicci auditioned on The Voice and made it to the top four and her songs became instant hits online. Her latest album titled VICCI includes raw, soul-bearing songs including “Let Go”, a song she wrote for her father and a duet with Cee-Lo titled “Come Along.” Between her honest lyrics and heartfelt performances, she is a force to be reckoned with and will fit in perfectly with the rest of the line-up at Summerthing.
