4572000-45720000News from Mrs. JudiceDecember 20, 2019We’ve made it to the Winter Break! I am sure we are all ready for some rest and relaxation. I hope you get it. As I send you off to Winter Break I’d like to thank you for all you do for your children, our class, our school and me. Golden View is the great place that it is thanks to parents and children who value our community. Thanks for valuing education and for being great examples to your children. When we return…in 2020… Yikes, that even sounds funny! :0Report Cards:We have finally made it to the end of the 1st Semester. It seems like it has been a long one. Report Cards will be sent home on Friday, January 17th in the Friday Folders.Book Bags/Sight Words:I am so pleased with the reading growth that I have observed recently with the children. I know a lot of their success is because you are encouraging them to read from their book bags each week. Thank You! When we return in January we will have all new groups for Guided Reading based on all of this growth. Yeah!Speaking of reading practice…some children are rocking the sight word lists-YEAH! I can tell your child is practicing. With sight word knowledge their reading levels are increasing. If your child hasn’t made this a weekly routine, please start fresh in January. Sight word lists are sent home when your child has passed to their next level. For those who are rocking them, new lists are in the bags for January. Bakery Field TripThank you to the many parents who volunteered to help us out with our Bakery Field trip and rushed to get cleared through Be A Mentor. We really appreciate your efforts and so glad that we didn’t have to cancel the trip. I have placed a little information for our drivers in today’s folder. My Husband:Thank you to all for your well wishes and concern for my husband. I appreciate everyone’s kindness. I wanted to update you that he is doing much better. He saw the surgeon this week and is now starting physical therapy for putting weight on his foot. Yeah! He still needs me to do everything for him, but I am hopeful that by mid January he will be able to walk without a walker or cane. I am in awe of medical technology these days and what they can accomplish. These photos show what the inside of his leg looks like now. Crazy! Coming up in 2020:2020 will be a busy one and is sure to fly by like this year did. Here are some of the upcoming events that have been calendared already if you’d like to add them to your calendars.January6: No School7: Welcome Back!9: Bakery Field Trip17: Report Cards go home20: No School-Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday24: Spirit Day! “Career Day”31: Hibernation Day Have a fabulous Winter Break!
