Reasons for this List:

1. To understand better who I am

I also took the Tickle Tests to this end. Socrates advice to "know thyself" is still applicable today. There are great advantages to knowing yourself well; it is often considered a mark of maturity.

2. To gain a better understanding of relationships

(a) In general

Knowing such topics gives me a good idea of overall how well I know another person. The depth of the questions our conversation consists of might also indicate this level. It is a form of brainstorming questions to ask to get to know someone. I am fairly awkward in social situations. For those P&P fans, it is my attempt to prepare even before I "practice" as Lizzy instructs Darcy to do (hey, I'm an engineer, what can I say?-take comfort, unlike Mr. Collins I have not prepared a list of compliments!).

(b) As regards a courting/dating relationship

The more objective measure of how many of these I could answer about someone prevents my heart from getting way ahead of where the relationship is. It also gives me a reference to remember all those facts about "the lady" I would forget otherwise (I know, how unromantic-but I know my own weakness).

(d) As regards those I am specifically ministering to

Well, other than the general comments, knowing these things can help me know how I am uniquely suited to ministering to someone. It also allows me to be aware of my weaknesses so that I do not leave them out to dry in some area.

3. As a tool for those who read it to use if they desire

I hope some of you will use it for your own purposes, whether they are those reasons above, or for others.
