Teaching as a cultural toolAn issue to take into account when transmitting culture through a foreign language as teachers is to know that our beliefs or prejudices could condition that teaching. As we read on the article Integrating language - and- culture teaching: an investigation of Spanish teachers’ perceptions of the objectives of foreign language education beliefs have to do with attitudes, values, judgments, axioms, opinions, ideology, perceptions, conceptions, conceptual system, preconceptions, dispositions, implicit theories, personal theories, internal mental processes, action strategies, rules of practice, practical principles, perspectives, repertories of understanding and social strategy. And all these factors (which are not all) can condition our teaching to be more a personal theory than an objective wisdom. As teachers we shouldn’t have conflictive beliefs (because it could lead in conflictive educational practices). It’s not about abandon our particular beliefs but to make sure they are appropriate and suitable. Once we are ready to not to cling to our beliefs as the only truth we will be able to establish truly intercultural objectives that will promote the acquisition of intercultural skills. As teachers we should be willing to achieve culture learning objectives in foreign language education; because as specified in the above-mentioned article The Spanish National Curriculum 1990 a foreign language education "allows students to be open to other ways of understanding reality, enriches students cultural world and promotes the development of attitudes of openness and relativity towards other cultures".?In the second session of this subject we have worked on different kind of dynamic, funny and motivating activities and games to promote healthy cultural awareness and beliefs. In short, resources that help us as teachers when it comes to working the culture through a foreign language education. Sayings, jokes, legends, stories, riddles, traditions, festivals… ................
