Date of Meeting: Date Submitted: To: From:

Subject:

August 6, 2019 July 8, 2019 Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board Arthur Lawson Sr., Interim County Administrator Wesley Hall, Assistant County Administrator City of Quincy Dump Truck Request

Statement of Issue:

This Agenda Item seeks Board approval of the City of Quincy's request to acquire a 2005 Mack CV713 Granite Dump Truck for services rendered on Barack Obama Boulevard and Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Background:

The Barack Obama Round-about project required the City of Quincy to relocate power lines and power poles from the construction area at a cost of $15,066.90. Additional lighting from West Jefferson intersection to the Barack Obama Round-About will add a cost of $32,570.72 for a total of $47,637.62.

Analysis:

The City of Quincy has indicated a need for a dump truck and has requested consideration to trade the Mack Dump Truck for their services rendered and additional lighting on Barack Obama Boulevard.

Fiscal Impact:

The County would provide a used 2005 Mack Granite dump truck valued between $35,000 to $59,900 based on sales and auction reports and would not have any additional expense.

Options:

1. Approve to trade the Mack CV713 for service rendered by the City of Quincy. 2. Do not approve. 3. Board direction.

Interim County Administrator's Recommendation: Option 3 Attachment(s):

1. Cost Breakdown from the City of Quincy 2. Information on 2005 Mack Granite CV713 Dump Truck
