Statement of Issue:

This agenda item seeks Board approval of the CR-159 Dover ? Scotland Road Guardrail Project Supplemental Agreement. (Local Agency Project ? LAP)

Background:

Construction and CEI of the CR 159 Dover/Scotland Road Guardrail project. The proposed project will include upgraded delineation of S-curve south of the Double Branch Creek, extended guardrail at culvert north of the bridge, add chevrons and/or signs at curved approaches to US 90/Shady Rest Road intersection, upgrade the pavement markings to include RPM's and audible edge lines between Shady Rest Road and US 27. The project is approximately 7.6 miles and begins at SR 10 (US 90) and continues to SR 63 (US 27).

Analysis:

The responsive bidder for the readvertised project was higher than the programmed amount for the project. As a result, this agreement is being amended to increase the agreement by $359,004. The revised agreement amount will be $862,753.

Fiscal Impact:

FDOT has allocated funding for the above reference project. There will be no fiscal impact to the County.

Options:

1. Approve the supplemental agreement, resolution and all related documents; and authorize the Chairman to sign.

A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF GADSDEN COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CHAIRMAN OR VICE-CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO EXECUTE AND ENTER INTO THE "LOCAL AGENCY PROGRAM AGREEMENT"

WHEREAS, Gadsden County, Florida has requested the State of Florida Department of Transportation for financial assistance for the construction of Dover-Scotland Road; and

WHEREAS; the State of Florida has agreed to such request, and the Financial Project is: 440647-1-58-01, 440647-1-68-01 and

WHEREAS, the State of Florida, Department of Transportation, has requested that Gadsden County enter into a "Local Agency Program Agreement", attached hereto; and

WHEREAS, the "Local Agency Program Agreement" requires that a Resolution be passed by the Board of County Commissioners of Gadsden County, Florida, authorizing the Chairman, or other approved Commissioner, to execute and enter into the "Small County Outreach Program Agreement", as attached hereto.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GADSDEN COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF FLORIDA THAT:

The Chairman or Vice-Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners of Gadsden County, Florida, is authorized to enter and execute the "Local Agency Program Agreement" attached hereto.
