Statement of Issue:

This agenda item seeks Board approval to award the design bid of Ralph Strong Road Sidewalk Project to Dewberry Engineers, Inc.

Background:

The Ralph Strong Rd. Sidewalk Project was selected for funding by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) through their Local Agency Program (LAP) in the amount of $78,316.00 for design. The proposed project will include installing 4500 LF of 6' sidewalk with 1500 LF of curb and gutter from US90 to Crossroads School entrance.

On May 8, 2019, the Board entered into an agreement with FDOT to complete the design portion. A total of 5 bids were received; the bids were opened and read aloud. The selection committee ranked the engineering companies and it was determined that Dewberry Engineers, Inc. was ranked the highest firm.

Fiscal Impact:

This project will have a total cost of $78,316.00 which will be funded from the FDOT LAP. This project will have no fiscal impact on the County.

Options:

1. Approve the award of Ralph Strong Sidewalk Project Design services to Dewberry Engineers, Inc. in the amount of $78,316.00 and authorize the chair to execute all related documents.

Sonja M. Bogan, 29, of Quincy, departed this life Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019, in Tallahassee.

A celebration of life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2019, at St. Stephens Primitive Baptist Church of Gretna, with burial at Sunnyvale Cemetery in Quincy.

Ned Burgess Sr., 61, of Quincy, transitioned from labor to reward Thursday, June 27, 2019, in Quincy.

Cemetery. He leaves to cherish

his memories a loving wife, Angela Jenkins Burgess; son, Ned

Burgess Jr.; three daughters, Shameka (Albert) Burgess, Nedrika Burgess and Trinity Burgess, all of Quincy; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and sorrowing friends. Visitation will be 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2019, at Evans Funeral Home and 9 a.m. until the hour of service at the sanctuary. Evans Funeral Home, 110 S. Ninth Street in Quincy, and is also in charge of all funeral arrangements.

Robert Dean Henry, 76, of Quincy, departed this life Wednesday, June 26, 2019, in Quincy.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories a wife, Jean Henry; two sons, Alvin Henry of Greensboro, and David Henry of Grand Ridge; two sisters, Orenettia Todd of Miami, and Mary Smith of Gretna; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at the Mortuary. A celebration of life will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness Church in Quincy.
