GADSDEN STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Dual Enrollment Students are high school students who have been approved to enroll for dual credit (college and high school) in a Gadsden State course while they are still attending high school. These courses are taught at Gadsden City High School. To be admitted for enrollment at GSCC as a Dual Enrollment Student, students must:

1. Apply online at gadsdenstate.edu. 2. Print out signature page or pick up signature page at GSCC. 3. Take a copy of your driver's license to GSCC. 4. A high school transcript is not required until after graduation unless a student scores a

20 or above on the ACT. A student must score a 23 on the math portion of the ACT in order to enroll in Math 112 at GSCC. Students may take Math 112 at GCHS with a lower ACT score for high school credit but will not receive college credit for the course. 5. Pick up a dual enrollment form from Mrs. Richards or Mrs. Ragan. The form must also be signed by Dr. Miller and Mr. Blackwell. 6. GSCC offers Placement Tests Monday ? Thursday from 8:00 until 1:00 for students that score below a 20 on the ACT or have not taken the ACT.

Early Admission Students are high school students who have been approved by their high school counselor and administration to enroll in GSCC courses while they are still attending high school. These students must have completed required high school credits for the subject they are enrolling in at GSCC. They will not receive high credit for the courses they are enrolled in at GSCC. To be admitted for enrollment at GSCC as a high school student, students must:

1. Meet admission requirements of Gadsden State; 2. Have successfully completed 11th grade with a "B" average; 3. Have completed the high school prerequisites (for example: a student may not enroll for

History until all high school History courses have been completed) 4. Pick up an Accelerated Approval Form from Mrs. Ragan or Mrs. Richards and have Mr.

Blackwell sign to recommend you for college level studies.
