This week we are focusing on Weight.

Each day try to do some mental maths

In IXL, I want you to focus on the following sections, in particular, the sections marked with a star beside them.

• Many of you may have been doing lots of cooking and baking at home which is an ideal way to practice your weighing and measuring skills. If you do any this week, you could take a picture of the recipe, the ingredients and the finished item?

• Look out for labels on food items etc. to see how much they weigh.

• Can you find 10 objects with a weight labelled on them and place them in order? Maybe you could take a photo and email it to me too.

Can you use a measuring scales to weigh the following?

Can you find the answers online to these world records?

Challenge yourself

Each week I will set you a creative challenge to complete

This weeks challenge is:

Can you make a rubber band powered car?

There are lots of tutorials on youtube if you do a search?

If you make one, why not send me a photo or video of it in action!

If you can’t find the materials you need, why not draw a labelled diagram and explain to me how it works?

Some extra ideas for the week

Keep checking our Twitter account – I’ll post up lots of activities over the week that I find interesting and relevant to our class
