~ Galena High School ~

Dear Coaches,

Welcome to the 23rd Annual Galena Spikers¡¯ 14U Volleyball Tournament. We are pleased to have the

opportunity to host this tournament and are sure that you and your team will have a challenging and

fun-filled day!

To ensure that everything goes smoothly and everyone has an enjoyable experience, we have prepared this

tournament information and guideline package for you. Please read all information thoroughly to make sure

that you understand it completely. Because our location is part of the

Iowa Region and this is a sanctioned tournament, it will be necessary that we carefully follow all USA

Volleyball ¨C Iowa Region rules and regulations. In addition, we have some special guidelines from

our host facility with which we must comply.

We will anticipate that all coaches and teams will take it upon themselves to be thoroughly

informed of these rules, regulations, and guidelines as specified in the enclosed materials

before their arrival at our tournament. Failure to comply with tournament rules, regulations,

and guidelines will risk player and/or team disqualification from the tournament. Further,

coaches and teams will be held responsible for their spectators. No poor sportsmanship will

be tolerated at any time! Tournament Director will request that coaches immediately correct

any spectator violations of tournament rules, regulations, and guidelines. Coaches failing to

resolve said matters to the satisfaction of the Tournament Director will risk disqualification of

her/his team from the tournament.

For those of you who wish to enjoy the overnight hospitality of the Galena area, we would like to suggest

Ramada Inn Galena (815-777-2043), Stoney Creek Inn (815-777-2223), the Best Western Quiet House

(815-777-2577), or Chestnut Mountain Resort (815-777-1320) as possible hotels that are located within

a relatively short driving distance from the schools. Be sure to call as early as you can for reservations.

Galena enjoys a very active tourist trade!

Once again we welcome you to Galena and our tournament. We are confident that you and your team

will have a great day. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions or concerns.

Sincerely,
