College of the Mainland Collegiate High School Expectations of Steering Committee Member
Steering Committee members are selected by their respective management/administration to represent their organization in helping to develop and promote the Collegiate High School (CHS) at College of the Mainland. There are three distinct Mainland Galveston County member groups on the Steering Committee, representing industry, feeder school districts and CHS staff.

Current area school districts represented: Dickinson ISD Friendswood ISD Hitchcock ISD La Marque ISD Santa Fe ISD Texas City ISD Clear Creek ISD
In order for the CHS to survive and thrive, the ideal is that each Steering Committee member is a full participant. Because of their different perspectives, there are distinct expectations for members of each group.
Expectations of Industrial Steering Committee Members: ? Seriously consider graduates for job openings for which they are qualified ? Host at least one meeting per year at your site ? Provide at least one mentor to CHS students ? Participate on one sub-committee ? Provide at least one employee for 1-2 days to develop specific curriculum ? Complete and report on off-line assignments timely ? Attend as many scheduled meetings as possible ? Attend one school career day ? Promote the program internal to your organization
Expectations of School District Steering Committee Members: ? Relentlessly promote the program to your students ? Do what you can to streamline the process for students to successfully transfer from your ISD to the CHS ? Participate on one sub-committee ? Attend as many scheduled meetings as possible ? Make sure the program is well represented at school career days
Expectations of CHS Staff Committee Members:
? Relentlessly promote the program in the community ? Coordinate Steering Committee and sub-committee meetings and events efficiently and effectively ? To the extent possible, make sure the needs of all stakeholders are met when decisions about the program are made ? Attend as many scheduled meetings as possible ? Make sure the program is well represented at ISD career days
