Senior Infants Week One Activities



Dear Parents,We hope that you are all well. As per Pat’s previous email we would like to offer some support to you in engaging your child in some educational activities. Much of what we do in the classroom is play based and child centered so that the children are learning through fun activities. These are some suggested activities for the coming weeks. Kind Regards,Cathy & JennyWednesday:Spend time reading togetherFree Writing: Children write for 10-15 minutes on a topic of their choice. Draw a picture to accompany this writing.Make a set of 9 using objects around the house. (toys/pasta shapes/socks etc)Tell the story of 9 and record this. e.g 2+7=9, 7+2=9, 1+8=9 etcPlay a board game or make a jigsaw togetherThursdaySpend time reading togetherMake a list of words ending in –ell, -ot, -an, -ingDraw a picture of your favourite character from the Oxford Reading TreeWrite 3-5 sentences about this characterFind 10 objects around the house for which they know the Gaeilge term. (food & clothes)FridayRead togetherDraw a picture of your family and write about themDice Addition Game: Roll two dice and add the numbers on it. Record answers on paper.Access website seideansi.ie . You will be asked to pick a dialect - choose An Mhumhain. Then scroll through Ranganna and select Naoinain Mhora. This will bring you to lots of suitable Gaeilge activities for your child.
