Her book, “The Three Faces of Evil: Unmasking the Full Spectrum of Narcissistic Abuse”, sets out to address the shortfalls in a therapist’s training so that they can become better equipped to work with the victims of narcissistic abuse. Narcissism is on a continuum, a spectrum of behaviour that ranges from healthy normal narcissism (Classical Narcissist) to extreme pathological narcissism (Malignant Narcissist and Psychopath). These three levels of narcissism are known in criminology as The Dark Triad (Narcissism, Machiavellianism, and Psychopathy), each with their own devastating pathology.Extreme narcissists are not just vain and irritating, they are downright dangerous. In her presentation she shall primarily concentrate on looking at "narcissistic personality traits" among the normal population - behaviours and attitudes that may or may not go far enough to warrant a clinical diagnosis or result in the narcissist being imprisoned. However, this behaviour is bad enough to cause destruction to unsuspecting people as they try to live their lives. This common type narcissism is the cause of most hardship done to individuals within families, romantic relationships, friendships, and the workplace. It is these victims of narcissistic abuse that end up in the therapy room daily. However, most therapists are ill equipped to recognize unhealthy narcissism, or recognise the effects of narcissistic abuse on the victim. Christine will provide insights and outline the various strategies that counsellors can utilize for understanding and recognizing pathological narcissistic traits. These Three Faces of Evil are vital information for understanding the full spectrum of narcissistic abuse. It is Christine’s vision that narcissistic abuse becomes part of the curriculum of all Mental Health Professionals and other professionals in the front-line who deal with the fallout of this insidious abuse (i.e. Psychotherapists, Social Workers, Police, Doctors, Solicitors, Law Courts, HR management, etc.).
