If you are a freshman, sophomore or junior in high school, then attending the in-person College Goal Sunday event will not be a benefit to you right now.  However, you can check out the “Resources” link for some helpful information.

Do I Need to Pre-Register for the In-Person Event?

Pre-registration is not needed.  You simply attend the site of your choice.

What Do I Need to Bring?

Students (and parents where appropriate) need to bring the following information in order to complete the FAFSA.

• FAFSA PIN #

I don’t have my 2012 tax information at this time.  Can I still complete the FAFSA?

Yes, you can use your 2012 tax information as an estimate on your FAFSA.  Once you have completed your 2012 taxes you will need to go back and correct/update the tax information on the FAFSA.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SCHOLARSHIPS, GRANTS, AND LOANS?

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit, academic achievement and/or special talents and do not require repayment. Some scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need.

Grants are awarded on the basis of financial need and do not require repayment.

Loans are financial aid awards that require repayment. They offer the opportunity to defer the cost of your educational expenses by borrowing now and repaying later. Some loan programs are based on financial need, but there are loan programs available to all students regardless of income
