Determining your taxes

Name:_____________________Hour:_____________________INSURANCEFor the Consumer Project, you will need to determine the price of the following:Auto InsuranceHealth InsuranceDental InsuranceRenters or Homeowners Insurance (depending on whether you’re renting or owning)For this part of the project, you do not need to conduct a personal visit. You research can be conducted online, although you will also need to talk to at least one parent or guardian regarding their experiences with insurance. Choosing InsuranceThe following are all websites that may prove helpful as you search for insurance. Remember, many jobs (but not all) offer some sort of health and dental insurance package, based on the employer contributing the majority of the plan. are many sites on which you should be able to get a quote without entering personal information. I do not recommend you enter personal information when looking for quotes, as you can guarantee you will be contacted by salespeople. If you’re having trouble or stuck, talk to your parents or another adult you know, as they’ve probably been dealing with insurance forever. You can also contact an insurance agent, although doing so may get your name on a telemarketing list that you can never get off of.Some questions to ask an adult include:What does your health insurance plan cover? Is there an out-of-pocket maximum? What are your copays for medicine? For doctor visits? Can you pick your own primary care physician? Is the cost of having a baby covered? What does the dental plan cover? What is the out-of-pocket maximum per year? Are fillings and crowns covered by the insurance or the insured? Can you choose your dentist? What kind of car insurance do you have? Does it cover collision or just liability? What is the legal requirement in your state for insurance? Do your premiums increase or decrease based on driving history? What does your renters/homeowners insurance cover? Is there a limit to how much coverage it provides? What are some situations that your insurance will not cover the loss or damage of your property?Reflection: All of these questions, as well as the estimated monthly costs of the insurances (also known as “premiums”) should be covered in your reflection write up, which should be at least one page typed, but can be longer. Be sure to talk about why you selected the plans that you did. ................
