Titanic Tanzanite

A rare treasure has just been uncovered! The largest tanzanite ever, an exceptional 525.55 carat clean, cushion cut tanzanite, has recently been cut and polished by AGTA Member Rare Multicolor Gems at their cutting facilities in Jaipur, India.

The unusually large piece of rough was uncovered at the TanzaniteOne mining facility in Merelani, Tanzania, in early 2008. Rare Multicolor Gems’ skilled cutters have meticulously shaped this stone to reflect maximum brilliance, while keeping its incredible size and unique color.

Plans are being made to send the extraordinary gem to the American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) GTC for grading and certification according to the Tanzanite Foundation’s Tanzanite Quality Scale™.

Mr. Khatoria of Rare Multicolor Gems comments: “We are so honored to have had the privilege to experience such a gem in our lifetime. Really this find is a one of a kind!”
