SEASONAL GENERAL LABORER

Starting in 1988 with just a few acres, Vandemark Sod Farm expanded quickly and is now a primary supplier to Wake County and the surrounding area. For 32 years, our family-owned business has enjoyed a reputation for top sod quality, selection and service. Our main product is natural turf which we provide to the landscaping industry, athletic fields and golf courses throughout the Triangle and North Carolina. We grow, harvest and ship six types of turfgrass from our Whitakers and Spring Hope locations. This Seasonal General Laborer position is year-round. JOB DESCRIPTION and RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Seasonal General Laborer is responsible for day to day general farm maintenance. This position is seasonal, from April 1st thru September 30th. However, if you show exemplary skills and passion for the job this position could turn into a year round position that would include major medical benefits. This position will receive direction from our owners, and supervisors and will be responsible for completing tasks that are assigned. The primary tasks of the position include:

? Using all-terrain forklifts to move pallets ? Working in hot, warm and cold weather ? Repairing wooden pallets ? General housekeeping in the shop and under the shelter ? Pallet inventory and counting ? Using a hammer and nail gun ? Ability to use a weed eater and lawn mower for farm maintenance ? Assists with any other jobs on the farm as needed, including some manual labor tasks ? Ability to lift and carry 60lbs ? Ability to multitask and solve problem ? Picking up parts from Vendors ? Valid NC Driver's license is required
