POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

|POSITION: |DUAL ENROLLMENT ADJUNCT CNA INSTRUCTOR |

|LOCATION: |Newton and DeKalb Campuses |

|DESCRIPTION | |

| |This position is PART TIME (MONDAY – FRIDAY). The high school year runs august 2011–May 2012. The hours are |

| |8:00AM–3:00PM. Teaching hours per week could range from 7 to 14 depending on the number of classes. specific |

| |teaching times each day will be determined by the schedule of the high school. |

| | |

| |Instruction will include both lecture and laboratory activities for Dual Enrollment Certified Nursing Assistant |

| |(CNA) courses at the Newton College and Career Academy in Covington, GA. The instructor must possess the ability|

| |to teach all phases of the CNA curriculum. Evaluate student’s progress in attaining goals and objectives, |

| |Request and maintain supplies and equipment. Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training |

| |area. The instructor will report to the Academic Dean through Dual Enrollment Coordinators. |

|MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: | |

| |A Bachelor’s degree from a national or regionally accredited college or university is desirable. Current |

| |Georgia Registered Nurse license. Experience in teaching/advising/mentoring high school-level students with |

| |broad diverse backgrounds |

| | |

| |Must hold a current RN License issued by the Georgia State Board. License must be maintained throughout |

| |employment. Three or more years, within the last seven of full-time, in-field work experience in a health care |

| |environment and/or teaching experience in a secondary or postsecondary program. |

| | |

| |NOTE: Unofficial Transcript must be provided at the time of interview. Official Transcript required within 60 |

| |days of employment. |

| | |

| |License must be provided for copying at the time of interview. |

| | |

| |Background screenings are conducted prior to employment. |

|PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: | |

| |Must have a current BLS Healthcare Provider Card and be willing to become a BLS Healthcare Provider Instructor. |

| |While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to |

| |finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel; |

| |and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. |

| |The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.|

| |Specific vision abilities, required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral |

| |vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. |

| |The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibrations of|

| |shears or other equipment used in the functioning of duties. |

|SALARY: |The salary range for this position is $24.00 to $30.00 per hour determined by education, experience and other |

| |qualifications. |

|BENEFITS: |Adjunct Faculty are temporary positions scheduled based on class needs of the college. Adjunct Faculty will |

| |generally sign assignment acknowledgements which cover a single term at a time, and employment is not guaranteed|

| |or reliable. Adjunct faculty members do not receive benefits and are scheduled as needed. Adjunct Faculty work |

| |on a per-term basis, therefore future courses are not assured. |

| |However, Georgia Defined Contributions, Social Security and taxes will be deducted. |
