Gary, Pablo, Lucy, and Xavier/Xar were spending some quality time at the beach. The air was warm and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky but Gary was still bored. As he looked around the vast empty beach for something to do, he suddenly spotted on the jagged, rocky horizon a dark, old looking light house. As Gary stood up to explore he suddenly noticed that the light house was guarded by an acre of knife sharp rocks. And even if he got past the rocks the huge powerful waves would strike him down and drag him out to sea. The only way to get around would be by going in his dinghy, Wolfe. But even that was risky as he could be smashed into the rocks by the tide. But Gary still took his chances and told the others they should come to.The tide tore the kids left and right and sent them flying through the air at some points. When suddenly a huge wave smashed the tiny dinghy into the rocks and sent the four flying into the rocks. With his knees bleeding and his head with a huge gash Gary stood up and looked around only to be knocked down again and gash his thighs. Gary slowly crawled off the blood covered rocks and fell down off the rocks and onto the sand. As he looked around he saw 2 other bloody bodies slowly starting to pick themselves up. “Oh my god”, cried Lucy, “Gary, you’re here and so is Xar but where the hell is Pablo!” Suddenly a “Flump!” and then a groan and Pablo’s bleeding torn apart body crashed onto the sandy floor.Gary and Xar ran over to Pablo and Lucy looked up towards the lighthouse only to see a windy path, leading up to the lighthouse. And then a group of 6 people suddenly entered the old light house and Lucy saw that the group were carrying heavy removal tools and assault rifles. Some of them were also carrying large crates with the words ‘DANGER EXPLOSIVES’. “Quick hide” cried Lucy and she ran over to the bleeding Pablo and hauled him behind a rock. Gary and Xar followed. “They are either a bunch of weirdos, or a bunch of smugglers!” said Lucy. “Who?” said Gary? “Those people up on the rock!” Lucy whispered. Gary peeped his head up and saw the smugglers enter the building. “We’ve got to find out what they are up to!”“What are we going to do about Pablo?” Lucy asked. Gary thought and thought so he asked Pablo how bad his wounds were. Pablo said they weren’t life threatening so Gary, Xar and Lucy all set off the long, winding path to follow the supposed smugglers.Part 2As the cold wind blew and Gary, Xar, and Lucy made their way up the windy path to follow the dangerous and armed supposed smugglers into the old lighthouse. After about 5 minutes of tiring walking the trio made it to the door of the light house. Inside was a large staircase going up to the top of the light house and a small manhole with a skull and cross bones embossed onto it and underneath the date 1943. “Well this lighthouse is old.” Gary said. “Yeah, so what are the smugglers doing here.” said Lucy. So then the 3 climbed up to the top of the lighthouse. On the way up, Xar, who knows a lot about military stuff, noticed something weird. He noticed that on the way up there was, on every level a small slit like one you’d get in a castle with an M2 machine gun mounted on a tripod next to it.“That’s weird,” Xar exclaimed, “these were only used as a World War 2 machine gun and because it is in Britain it must be a coastal machine gun making this whole lighthouse a WW2 defence outpost!” “And didn’t that manhole have the date 1943 on it?” said Lucy. “Yeah,” Xar exclaimed again, “1943 was after the axis had invaded France and fully taken it over but it was before D-day also known as operation overlord!” Suddenly a drilling noise was heard from underneath Gary, Xar and Lucy. And the noise was also coming from underneath the 1943 (World War 2) manhole. “We’ve got to see what’s under there!” exclaimed Gary. So the trio climbed down and lifted up the manhole.Gary, Xar and Lucy lowered themselves down into the darkness only to find themselves in an incredibly large room. Suddenly the trio heard voices and they ducked behind a control panel. But Xar had noticed something before they hid. If he had seen what he thought he had seen then he knew exactly why the smugglers needed explosives, heavy duty tools and assault rifles. Because what Xar had thought he had seen if his mathematics were correct, then he had seen the mythical 50 inch British prototype coastal gun. Recorded to be powerful enough to break the German’s defensive line (The Atlantic wall) in 12 shots. But the gun (also known to British home defence as Big Tommy) never made it into production as even by the end of the war the British Army still hadn’t made shells big enough to fit into the gun so it was forgotten about. And Xar thought that the smugglers were going to smuggle it back to their home country and sell it to their army for billions of pounds. And how better to test it out than trying it out on France and making France declare war on Brittan and then the smuggler’s home country to sell the gun to either side for a trillion euros/pounds. A genius money scheme which would make them rich but it would also cost thousands of lives. And Xar had predicted exactly what the so-called smugglers were planning on doing.Pablo lay on the sand thinking about what his friends were doing. Maybe they had been captured by the so-called smugglers. Maybe they had found lots of treasure and riches and maybe they were all packing it up. Or maybe they were in a battle with the smugglers. But Pablo had not been able to think about it anymore because he had passed out. When he woke up he found himself in darkness and what felt to be a bag around his head. He then heard voices and the next thing he knew was that he was in a dimly lit room with three other people all armed with assault-rifles and dark suits. And at that moment Pablo realised that he had been captured by the smugglers. After being informed by Xar about the ‘Big tommy’ Gary thought of a plan. The plan was to stay hiding and then ask Lucy to call 999 (For all doughnuts out there that is the number for the police) and wait for them to come there. 15 minutes later the three heard a Rattatattat! And then again Rattatattat! And suddenly a Boom! And then the three heard cries of pain as bodies dropped to the ground and the Rattatattat! Was finally silenced as over 15 people climbed through the manhole all taking cover when suddenly the Rattatattat! Started again and a few of the 15 people with uniforms saying Police on them dropped dead on the floor suddenly the remaining police took cover and started to return fire and a few of the smugglers dropped dead. Then, out of the darkness appeared a black suited man holding merely a pistol and a medium sized wriggling object which seemed to have a bag where its head would be. The man suddenly shouted “freeze!” and the firing stopped. “One movement,” he said calmly, “and I will shoot this boy.” Then suddenly out of a tiny slit in the underground bunker a flash. Then the man dropped dead with a bullet to the side of the head. Next thing the smugglers knew was they were back in combat. The fighting continued until finally the last smuggler stuck his hands up and was taken prisoner. Meanwhile 2 other police tore off the bag of the boy’s head and when Gary turned around he saw Pablo and a police officer limping towards him.“Pablo!” Gary cried and he ran over to hug his wounded friend. In the end Pablo was taken to hospital for a week but he was soon home with a broken leg and a lot of scars. The End ................
