K-5 Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA) Locator Guide

Purpose:

The following guide lists a variety of books that are comparable to the DRA text levels and their approximate grade levels. These books were sorted by common characteristics and leveled by classroom teachers. Thinking about where and what a student is reading on a daily basis and locating similar books on the guide should give teachers a general sense of which book(s) to select for the DRA assessment. Nonfiction DRA texts have been marked with an asterisk. After giving the DRA assessment the teacher may use the guide once again to think about what types and levels of books the student is ready to read next. Please refer to The Fountas and Pinnell Leveled Booklist, K-8.
