Monetary donations are always welcome and needed for the continuation of our programs in assisting our clients! Checks may be made out to the H.E.R. Shelter and sent to the above address.
Please call before delivering donations to assure that we are able to accommodate the items, and that staff will be available to accept them.
Thanks to the generosity of the community, we do NOT need the following items at this time:
Clothing, travel size toiletry items, crayons, toothbrushes and toothpaste, stuffed toys
For Women Establishing New Households
❖ Brooms
❖ Mops
❖ Dish Drainers
❖ Gently Used or New Pots and Pans, Cookware & Bake Ware
❖ General Kitchen Appliances (mixer, coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave)
❖ Generic Accessories (dish rack, utensils)
❖ Dishes, Silverware & Glassware
❖ Furniture (must call to see if there is a need) We do not have storage or transportation for large items.
For Women and Children Who Enter the Shelter
❖ In various sizes for boys, girls, and women:
o New underwear
o New socks
o New sleepwear
❖ Disposable diapers, especially larger sizes – sizes 3, 4 & 5 – we are not accepting size 2 at this time
❖ Disposable Pull-Up Diapers
❖ Disposable Baby Wipes
❖ Baby Food and Formula (i.e. Isomil, Infamil, and Similac)
For the Shelter Kitchen
❖ Gently Used or New Pots & Pans * Sugar
❖ Gently Used/ New Bake ware, Cookware & Cooking Utensils * Cooking Oil (cannot use soybean or nut oils)
❖ Dishes/Cups (preferably disposable plastic, i.e. Solo) * Frozen Fruits
❖ Plastic ware (forks, knives, spoons) * Frozen Vegetables
❖ Salt, Pepper & Cooking Spices * Meats
❖ Unexpired non-perishable foods
