CONTEST RULES
1. Any youth organization participating at the Pickaway County Fair is eligible to have participants in the Junior Fair King and Queen Contest: 4-H clubs, FFA chapters, F.C.C.L.A. chapters, Scout troops, Farm Bureau, Grange, etc. Contestants must be at least l6 years of age by January l of the current year, not married, and a member of one of the youth organizations participating at the fair.
2. Previous Pickaway County Junior Fair kings and queens are ineligible.
3. The completed application including a wallet-sized photo is to be submitted to the OSU Extension Office, Pickaway County by June 1.
4. Judging will consist of a personal interview prior to the fair and speaking ability and stage presence during the Junior Fair King & Queen Contest at the fair.
5. The personal interview will take place the evening of June 14 at the Extension Office. Contestants will be able to sign up for a time slot when they turn in their application.
6. The Junior Fair King/Queen contest will take place on Sunday, June 17 at 4:00 pm. Contestants should meet by 3:45 pm to the right of the midway stage. In the event of rain, the contest will be held in the 4-H/Grange Building.
6. Appropriate dress for the personal interview will be business dress. The dress for the Contest during the fair will be nice dress-up. For girls formals are discouraged, but make sure that all dresses and skirts are at least knee length. Remember you will be up on a stage. Gentlemen are to be in dress pants and a tie (suit jacket is optional).
7. The King, Queen & Court must be available to assist with Junior Fair award presentations and the livestock sale throughout the week of fair.
