Leveraging on our global platform and the extensive client network of the HSBC Group, our investment bankers focus on the origination and execution of cross-border and domestic corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions assignments, divestitures and financial restructurings, and the provision of a range of strategic financing solutions to our clients involving international and domestic debt and equity capital markets, and leveraged finance.

To join us as an analyst, you will be placed in our Hong Kong or one of our regional offices. Working in a country coverage or sector coverage team, you will be focused on cultivating client relationships; idea generation and transaction origination; liaising with the regional advisory and product groups across the globe; and advising on and executing transactions. You will benefit from constant interaction with senior and experienced bankers as you learn about building financial models of acquisitions, share buybacks, capital refinancings and capital raising.

Your first experience as an analyst will be our structured 5-week Global Businesses Analyst Programme held in London where you will meet analysts from each global region. You will be based in our Hong Kong office. Upon joining, you will attend a five-week Global Businesses Analyst Programme in London where you will meet with analysts from each global region. Upon your return, your 12-month programme will begin which comprises three rotations in one of the chosen disciplines: sales or trading, potentially one of the rotations will be outside your chosen discipline. You will gain in-depth exposure to a wide range of products across the asset classes, for example: capital markets, credit, rates, equities, derivatives and structured products. You will also enjoy the support, guidance and mentorship of our senior managers. There will be regular performance feedback and discussions with your managers on your strengths, development areas and career aspirations for designing an appropriate career plan. Upon satisfactory completion of the programme, you will take up a solid role as an Analyst in Global Markets in our Hong Kong office.

We are looking for strongly numerate, analytical, confident and customer-centric candidates. You will need to be an excellent communicator with the ability to analyze client needs and recommend viable solutions. Strong numerical, quantitative and analytical skills are a must. You must also possess up-to-date market knowledge and show an absolute passion for learning how financial markets function. Finally, you must adapt quickly to change in markets and our services in a fast-moving environment.
