Unit 1 - Study Guide

Related Issue #1 – To what extent should globalization shape identity?

What follows is a breakdown of all the major terms and concepts covered in the Chapters 1 – 4 of Exploring Globalization.

To get the most benefit from this study guide, you need to consider each item carefully. I recommend that you use blank paper or index cards and write one or two sentences to explain each term / concept - WITHOUT USING YOUR TEXTBOOK/NOTES! If you can do that, you know your stuff. If you can’t explain in detail some of the items, then you know what you need to study.

Once you have studied the material you were unsure of, repeat the process of getting out some paper and writing out explanations for each and every term / concept.

Another good way to study is to get a parent / sibling/ friend to randomly pick out concepts / terms and have you explain them.

➢ Part 1 includes all the terms / concepts you should know.

➢ Part 2 questions you should be able to respond to.

➢ Part 3 is a section for you to write down questions that may arise while studying.
