Welcome to LAUNCH,

Welcome to LAUNCH!

This specialized program is designed to help with one of the toughest yet most rewarding volunteer positions – becoming a CASA Volunteer for children ages 14 to 18. LAUNCH focuses specifically on the needs of older youth in the foster care system and trains CASA Volunteers to work effectively with this age group.

Additional requirements for LAUNCH CASA Volunteers are as follows:

• Attend the initial 4 hour LAUNCH training (in office) within the first year of being assigned a case.

• Complete the Fostering Futures training online. Trainings are offered in the spring and fall of each year.

Additional goals include:

• Completing the Assessment Checklist with assigned youth*.

• Filling out the Goal Setting worksheet with youth*.

• Using the LAUNCH Court Report.

*These documents are included in the training material.

Throughout the year, additional trainings will be offered in order to learn more about working with youth ages 14 to 18. Some of the topics covered are education, delinquency and job readiness.

Once again, ProKids would like to thank you for your commitment to teenagers and willingness to be an advocate in their lives.
