out of the mire and into the choir!Psalm 40:2-3 (KJV) 2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. 3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. As we look here in Psalms 40, I want to share with you how that God brought us out of the mire and placed us into the choir. I want to share with you two points from these verses First of all I want you to notice: The Comparison of Sin to the Miry clay.We find here first of all that the Bible compares sin to the miry clay. Psalm 69:2 (KJV) 2 I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. Psalm 69:14 (KJV) 14 Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters. Miry clay is like a thick mud, likened unto quicksandEvery one of us have been stuck in the quicksand of sinThree ways I believe that mire resembles sinThe more you struggle to pull yourself out, the further you sinkThe mire will eventually pull you to the bottomThe only way out is for someone to pull you outThe Choir of the SaintsNow look he brought me up! I was sinking deep in sin far from the peaceful shore, very deeply stained within sinking to rise no more, but the master of the sea heard my despairing cry, from the water lifted me now safe am IHe set me upJesus is our Solid rock - Psalm 89:26 (KJV) 26 He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation. Psalm 92:15 (KJV) 15 To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.Psalm 94:22 (KJV) 22 But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge. Psalm 95:1 (KJV) 1 O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Sturdy foundationFor faithFor family For the fellowshipHe keeps me upIf we were all honest there have been times in our lives as Christians we have thought about giving up, slowing down, throwing my hands up, but Jesus keeps me going! He established me! He founded me with Faith Acts 16:5 (KJV) 5 And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily. He grounded me with Grace Hebrews 13:9 (KJV) 9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. He settled me with his scripture 2 Peter 1:12 (KJV) 12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth. He tunes me up Psalm 96:1 (KJV) 1 O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth. Now I am Singing Songs of praiseSoon I will be Singing in a Heavenly place!Revelation 5:9 ................
