IV. Q&A: Ask the children if they know what happens Thursday? Thanksgiving is a time when we show love to our family and others. We show forgiveness to those who have hurt our feelings. Remember God is always with us no matter what is happening in our lives just like God was with Joseph through his years of slavery and God found a way to bring Joseph back together with his family and save all of Egypt from starvation! God worked many wonders through Joseph and Joseph never lost faith that God had a plan for him. God is with us wherever we go.

V. Medley of sit down songs to close

a. Seek ye First (which we now close service with in sanctuary)

b. Jesus loves the little children

c. Scripture song for November 2005

God made us, we belong to God

God made us, we belong to God

God made us, we belong to God

VI. Closing Prayer and Dismissal

Creek Bank Time:

Children call to Uncle Smelly to join us!

Leigh – Good morning, Uncle Smelly!

Uncle Smelly – Good morning boys and girls! Good morning, Miss Leigh

Leigh – Uncle Smelly have you heard the story of Joseph and his beautiful coat?.

Uncle Smelly – I sure did! But Joseph didn’t get to keep that beautiful coat for long. It was taken from him when he was sold into slavery and forced to work for the Egyptians.

Leigh – Who sold him into slavery?

Uncle Smelly – His brothers.

Leigh – Joseph must have been so mad at his brothers?

Uncle Smelly – He was for a long time but Joseph’s story has a happy ending.

Leigh – You’re right! Joseph didn’t stay a slave for long. He became the ruler of Egypt, second only to Pharoah!

Uncle Smelly – Wow! God certainly had a plan for Joseph. I heard he was even reunited with his family and do you know what…

Leigh – What?

Uncle Smelly – Joseph forgave his brothers for selling him into slavery. God loves us and we can show love to our families like Joseph showed no matter what happens.

Leigh – And Thanksgiving is the perfect time to show love to our families.

Uncle Smelly – I’m going to give extra hugs and kisses to all my friends and family this week and remember Joseph’s story.

Leigh – Wow, Uncle Smelly. I am so glad we can learn from Joseph’s story of forgiveness. I will trust God to know the plan he has for me even if it isn’t clear.

Uncle Smelly – Do you boys and girls want to sing our Bible verse with me? Let me hand it to Miss Leigh to place on the scripture tree: (Hands the scripture over to Leigh) Sing it with me.

a. We sing it like this… Scripture song for November 2005

i. To the tune of “Skip to my Lou”

God made us, we belong to God

God made us, we belong to God

God made us, we belong to God

Psalm 100:3

Leigh – Thanks Uncle Smelly. Until next week…Goodbye Uncle Smelly! Boys and girls let’s thank Uncle Smelly for coming!
