Creek Bank Time:

Leigh – Boys and girls, what was Whiskers doing last week when he came to worship with us? Q & A.

Leigh - Whiskers, good morning!

Whiskers – Good morning boys and girls!

Leigh – Whiskers, do you remember how we were talking about being helpers for God last week?

Whiskers – Yes, I do. (sounding melancholy) Does this mean I have to clean out my toy box again?

Leigh – No way! What I mean is that I read my Bible and learned about another helper for God.

Whiskers – Do I know the story?

Leigh – Maybe. God’s helper in this story was named Dorcas. She helped to care for others less fortunate than herself by sharing clothes that she made.

Whiskers – Kind of like giving my toys away?

Leigh – Yes. And God was so pleased at the good thing Dorcas did that he performed a miracle.

Whiskers – A miracle like turning water into wine? (Excitedly) Oh, I know, I know, maybe multiplying the fish and loaves of bread to feed the crowd?

Leigh – Yes, those are God’s miracles but God’s miracle in this story happened after Dorcas died. He brought her back to life!

Whiskers – She was alive again? Is that possible?

Leigh – God works miracles for many people, Whiskers.

Whiskers – Were people scared when they heard of this miracle?

Leigh – No, matter of fact people were choosing to worship God after they heard of this miracle.

Whiskers - Do you kids remember the bible verse we learned last week?

(Hands the scripture over to Leigh) Sing it with me “Go to the people of all nations” Matthew 28:19. We sing it like this… (to the tune of “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow”)

Go to all the people

And make them my disciples

Matthew 28:19

Matthew 28:19

Leigh – Thanks Whiskers for being God’s helper and talking to me about ways to help others and tell them about Jesus. Good bye Whiskers!

Whiskers – Goodbye boys and girls!

Song “Goodbye to Whiskers” to conclude
