Teacher: Tell the story of Nuh and how the people who were rich were proud. They laughed at the poor people. Those will big houses walked proudly. Those with big horses looked up with stiff necks. They did not listen to Nabi Nuh because satan was whispering in their ears. What kind of things was satan telling them? Finally, Nuh saved the good people who were not proud.

EVERY LITTLE COUNTS

Teacher: Ask children how they help their parents. Is it by helping clean the home, or by tidying the bedroom etc. Do they help even if it is little help? Tell them the story of Nabi Ibrahim and the bad king who was proud. Ibrahim said not to be proud but the king would look at all his palaces and army, and feel proud. Then he threw Ibrahim in to the fire. A bird came to save him. The bird was asked that it is too small to help. But the bird said: “I will still do what little I can!”

3. Here are some proud kings of the past who looked at their palaces and felt powerful and proud. They did not listen to the Nabis. But today they have all died. They did not get anything for being proud of themselves. Tick the things they were proud of.

LESSON 6

THE COMING OF HOPE

Teacher: This is the story of hope. Ask children what is hope and what they hope for in life. Then tell them the story of Asiya who was a wife of a bad king called Feron. She lost all hope of having a good son who will stand up against Feron. But one day when she went to the river with her friends she saw a basket floating. She found a baby in it. This baby was her hope that a day will come when someone will stand up against Feron.

LESSON 8

HAPPY TO BE WITH GOD

Teacher: Ask children what things make them happy. Tell them that Allah is happy when we are happy provided we are not bad to anybody. This means never telling lies, never breaking a promise, never being rude, never stealing etc. Then tell them about Nabi Essa who was followed by people who said: “We love God” But Essa said that to love God you should learn to forgive others, be kind, be thoughtful etc. So the people did what Nabi Essa said. Soon their hearts were happy. They had learnt that happiness is not eating too much food or in sleeping in large beds. They had leant that true happiness is in loving God.

Teacher: How do some bad people confuse others? The worst thing is to change which the Nabis have taught. So when he said that people should do good then they turned it can said do bad. When he said be kind then they said be cruel. The crooked people made everything crooked . But God gave the Quran to Nabi Muhammad which nobody could change. Until today the Quran has not been changed by anybody.

ALLAH LOVES HARD WORKERS

Teachers: Discuss with children what rewards Allah gives us when we work hard and work properly. Give them examples like when a child works hard to learn to draw or to learn to write properly. Tell them how doctors and nurses have to work hard to learn so many things. What about pilots and those who make computer games. Then tell them the story of Nabi Sulaiman who was marching with his army. He saw ants marching to do some hard work like building their homes and gathering food. Sulaiman picked up the leader of the ants. The ant said: “Be careful you don’t crush my ants otherwise I will complain to God about you!”
