Q: Is the Alaska Performance Scholarship (APS) Program going away? A: No, the program is not going away. There are no proposed changes to the program

structure under consideration by the legislature. Q: Will there be money for APS awards in the 2019-2020 school year? A: Funding for the APS is included in the Fiscal Year 2020 (FY20) proposed budget. ACPE will

publish more information when the FY20 budget is finalized. Q: Will there be money for the Alaska Education Grant (AEG) Program in the 2019-2020

school year? A: The FY20 proposed budget includes funding for the AEG program. ACPE will publish more

information when the FY20 budget is finalized. Q: I'm a Class of 2019 high school graduate. When will ACPE receive my APS eligibility

information? A: ACPE will receive the file of APS-eligible high school graduates in late summer. However,

students should apply now. Go to fafsa. and complete your FAFSA - be sure to select the school you plan to attend in the fall of 2019. Q: When can I apply for the APS or AEG for the 2019-2020 school year? A: You can ? and should ? apply now! The application for APS and AEG is the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Applications for the 2019-2020 school year became available October 1, 2018. If you haven't applied, you should do so as soon as possible; because of funding limitations, awards are prioritized based on FAFSA filing date. Q: If I complete my FAFSA, am I guaranteed to receive an award? A: No. APS and AEG awards are dependent upon funding. Students should apply early but with the knowledge that funding will not be finalized until early summer. Go to fafsa. and complete your FAFSA - be sure to select the school you plan to attend in the fall of 2019.
