Special Events InformationAll events and fees are subject to change-RIGC Tournament Committee has the right to add outside players to meet the number required for the event to take place. All outside players should have a USGA handicap-if not, the RIGC Handicap Chairman will assign the player a handicap for the event____________________________________________________________________________________RIGC- Club Match Play Starts May 12 end August 25Each member who participates will have the opportunity to play three qualifying rounds---the best two qualifying rounds will be used to see if you become eligible to play in the round of 32. Seeding in the round of 32 will come from your position from the qualifying rounds. All qualifying rounds are played as stroke play NO handicaps, and will be played from the white tee boxes or equivilant at the courses chosen. Any ties in positions other than position 32 will be determined by the net total score. Position 32 ties will be determined by the total net score that is the least. The brackets will be made by Wynn Miller-Handicap Chairman. Your seeding on the brackets is based upon your position from the qualifying rounds. YOU MUST play your matches as scheduled for the first two rounds, if you are not available to play, let the committee know such that your position will be replaced from the players who do not qualify. After the second round, the round of 8 to the semi-finals; you can make your arrangements with your opponent when to play. To keep the competition in some consistency---YOU MUST PLAY AT THE COURSE THAT IS SCHEDULED TO BE PLAY-NO PICKING A COURSE. You will be required to have on marker from RIGC play-along within your match. The marker can be anyone from RIGC. NO ENTRY FEE_____________________________________________________________________________RIGC Club Championships-Starts July 21 ends August 11Two rounds of open play scratch. Winner is determined by the combined two rounds.Open Division: Open to all members of RIGC—this is a two day gross score tournament. The winner is the lowest combined scores of both rounds. Play will be from 6400 yards or more. Winner will be registered to play in the season finale of GAM Tournament of Club Champions. Senior Division: Open to any member who is 60 years and older—this is a two day gross score tournament. The winner is the lowest combined scores of both rounds. Play will be from 6200-6400 yards. Winner will be registered to play in the year finale of GAM Tournament of Club Champions-Seniors.Masters Division: Open to any member who is 70 years and greater. This is a two day event, gross scores. Winner is the lowest of the combined scores. Play will from less than 6100 yards. Winner will receive cash prizes and plaques. Net Championship: This is open to all members—The lowest combined net score will determine the winner of the Net Championship. Winner will receive a plaque and cash prizes. NO ENTRY FEE (Skins and Pins possible $20.00) Triple Threat-June 23 [Metamora G&CCThis is a one day event of which each team will be made up three players, one from each flight (A/B/C)---Format will be a shamble format-full handicap where 4 tee balls are needed from each member. Scoring of this event is TWO net balls per hole. All A players will tee from the Blue Tees, all the B players will tee from the White Tees and all the C players will T from the red tees. All entry and fees paid to RIGC-Entry Fee which will include lunch and greens fees to be determined. Two Man Modified Alternate Shot-July 14CancelledIn place of this event, the competition committee is looking for some input from the players of what you would like to have as a fun competitive game. This game will be an event that requires entry fee and prize money with the lunch afterwards. I have heard going with a three man scramble –Red/White/Blue yes in other words, 1st hole is Red, the second is a white and the third is a blue---Westwynd will allow two threesome on the same hole with this format…Now here is what you do------------You Make UP your Team---we have 54 or so members of which I believe we can have 15 teams playing--- _____________________________________________________________________________________RIGC Member/Member July 28 Atlas Valley Golf Club.This is a shamble format tournament where each team will receive 80% of their GHIN listed handicap for that course. You will be playing a hybrid Tee which basically is a mixture of some white and some red to make the course no longer than 6000 yards. You are required to use 6 (six) t-shots from each member of the team. Scoring will be better ball. Skins, Pins and Placement 1-3 Fees TBD_____________________________________________________________________________________ Texas Two-Jug Shoot Out September 1 [ Bay Pointe Golf Club]This is the running of the Jug—two man team----Teams will be determined by the Handicap Chairman. This is a shamble format with full handicap—there is no requirement on tee ball usage-on the odd holesyou score lowest net; on the even holes you score both net scores. All play from the back tees except the par fives from the forward tees. Maximum score is triple bogey gross. Payment to the proshop-Entry Fee $15.00 per person—Skins, Pins paid out the following week, winners of the Jug are announced at annual banquet with 1-3rd payout._______________________________________________________________________________________ Yellow Ball by Miller/Moore-September 15 (Springdale Golf Club}This is a four man tournament where each team will have a player from each flight. The team Captain will be the player with the lowest handicap. Each team will be given two yellow balls marked accordingly. On each hole, there will be a yellow ball player and the three others. Player playing the yellow ball will play the hole with full handicap. The other three will play that hole as an open scramble no handicap. The scoring of the hole will be the combined yellow ball score with the scramble score. Each member of the team is required to play four holes with the yellow ball. Finished score will be the total less ten strokes for each yellow ball turned into the scorer’s table. Skins, Pins and Placements 1-3 –Total for greens fees and entry will be $45.00 per person/$180.00 per team paid to RIGC. Payouts will be at cook-out._____________________________________________________________________________TEAM MATCH PLAY-September 22/29The season finale with two weeks of match play. The two captains will pick their teams two weeks before the starting of the event. The first round of the event will be doubles---the second round will be singles. Format is match play per hole using full handicaps—Scoring for both doubles and singles---each hole won will be given 2 points, tie the hole it is 1 point. The team that accumulates the most points wins the Team Bowl. Entry Fee is $20.00 per man into the Bowl. Winning team takes all the cash. *IF the second round is rained out, the winning team is the team whose is leading after the first round. If the first round is rained out, the captains will go with half singles and half doubles for the event finale. ____________________________________________________________________Coops Challenge October 13This event takes place just prior to the annual banquet. This will be a shotgun start at noon. This is a blind draw for your partner. You will play the 18 holes with full handicaps where all par 3’s and par 5’s will be played from the green tees and all other holes from the white tees. After completing your 18 holes, give your scorecard to the proshop who will tell you who your blind partner is. The proshop will do the combined better ball card and post this on the big scoreboard. Once all is completed, the scoreboard will be posted in the banquet area. Cash awards to the team placements 1-3 -skins will go to the two man team. CTP will be awarded to the person who’s name is on the par thee hole sheet. The greens fees are paid to the proshop-The entry Fee $20.00 per man is paid to Rod CooperAnnual Awards Banquet-October 13Westwynd Golf Club-Private room-Buffet style dinner-cocktail hour at 5 pm-dinner at 6pm; RSVP will be needed. RSVP will be paying for this banquet. Guest are welcome but will be responsible for their dinner.The guest amount will be determined at a later date. ................
