If there is not yet one on the church calendar, the office will forward your email to our Shower Coordinator to start the process.Q: Who gives the shower?A: Anyone wishing to hostess a shower can do so. If there is no hostess ready, the board has a committee ready.Q: How do I get the word out to all the women at Simi Covenant Church that we are planning a shower?A: We will put an announcement in the Sunday morning bulletin 2 to 4 weeks prior to the date of the shower. Let the office staff (Dolores Miller) know the honoree, the date, the time, the address, and who is collecting for the group gift. You might also consider creating a Facebook invite.Q: How much will I need to spend on the shower?A: We suggest a budget of about $50.00 to cover cake, paper good, beverages, and thank you cards (ask the guests to self-address the thank you envelopes during the party)Q: How do we pay for a gift or gifts for the bride or new mom?A: The hostess or another designated person collects donations from the women of the church for a group gift. Don’t be shy about asking women to contribute! Women want to donate. You can expect to collect somewhere between $100 and $200.Q: Can individual women bring their own gift for the bride or the new mom if they don’t want to contribute to the group gift?A: Yes. Individuals can bring their own gifts if they choose. Some women contribute to the group gift as well as bring an individual gift.Q: How many baby or bridal showers may one woman receive?A: We, as a church family, will give any woman one baby shower and one bridal shower.Q: What do we do at the shower?A: We suggest that the shower include a time for each attendee to introduce themselves to the honoree, a time of devotion, and then cake/dessert and opening of the gift(s). The hostess does not necessarily perform all of the tasks. Women want to be asked to help!Q: What is the devotion?A: The devotion often consists of a Bible verse and interpretation, with advice for the bride or the new mom. It can include inspirational writings or music. This is a time to minister to the honoree. You might consider asking someone close to the honoree or someone who has experienced a similar life circumstance to perform this task. It’s good to involve other women!7073903733801714500845820017145008458200 ................
