Good Behavior Pays!

Classroom Promises:

2. Make good choices

3. Raise your hand and wait

to be called on

4. Always do your best

work!

5. Treat others the way

you want to be treated!

Additional Rewards for Good Behavior

• Positive mark on daily behavior calendar

• Earn “Class Cash”

• Spend money at the class “auction”

• Earn a class compliment party

• Choose item from treasure box

Consequences for Not Meeting Classroom Expectations

• Pay Ms.Livingston with Class Cash (loose your money)

• Pace during recess (stay physically active but no free play)

• Silent lunch

• No class compliment party

Class Cash may be taken at ANY TIME a student is not meeting classroom expectations. A student may have ended their day without having to move his/her clip down; but they may still have to pay the teacher for things such as messy work areas, lost materials (pencils, class work, etc), wasting time in the bathroom, not getting along with classmates, etc.

Please make sure you sign and return the behavior contract after reading, discussing and understanding “Good Behavior Pays.” Let me know if you have any questions!

-----------------------

Our plan revolves around fake money called “Class Cash.” Students can earn “cash” for attendance and good behavior at the end of every day. They can earn “cash” for having a parent initial their calendar each morning. Students will spend their “cash” at our class auction every other week!

Students will be expected to follow classroom promises and school rules and procedures at all times. We will use a visual display like the one shown on the left side of the paper to help us stay on track. All students will begin their day with their name clipped to the green section that reads Ready to Learn! If a student is observed setting a great example for their peers, they can move up the chart to Good Job, Great Day, and finally Outstanding! When a student chooses to break one of our classroom promises, he or she will move their clip to Think About It. This blue space holds no consequence but serves as a way of reminding students to slow down and think about their actions! If a student continues to ignore classroom expectations after receiving a warning, he or she will move his/her clip purple section that says Consequence or Teacher’s Choice. Finally there is a section for Parent Contact if behaviors continue after consequences. Students can move both up and down throughout the day. At the end of each day, students will either earn or loose Class Cash depending on where his/her clip is. I will communicate your child’s behavior to you with the color they finished the day on in each student’s daily calendar. Students are held responsible for making sure they receive a parent initial in their calendars. This is VERY important as it is documentation that daily communication is occurring between us (teacher and parent). Students will be rewarded with Class Cash for each day they have had their calendar signed. Your signature verifies that you have seen your child’s behavior and that you have received notes, news, and reminders sent home in the Daily Folder.
