Yamilya Ware was born in Rota, Spain, and raised in Europe for almost eight years. After her mother retired from the Navy in 2012, they moved to San Antonio, Texas. She attended 8th grade at Harris Middle School and graduated from James Madison High School in 2017.

Yamilya became interested in teaching at the opportunity to set a positive example for students and enrolled at San Antonio College to pursue an associate degree in education. She believes that educators are role models and can help students become outstanding citizens. Yamilya is determined to make a difference one person at a time. She looks forward to providing students opportunities to develop a good foundation and like a seed, watch them grow.

Yamilya is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success Sigma Alpha Pi and Phi Theta Kappa Beta Nu. She made the Dean's List in both the Fall and Spring of 2019.

She has earned a Texas State Transfer Achievement Scholarship, and she will transfer in the Spring of 2020 to pursue her bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies. Yamilya strives to continuously work hard in school to honor God, her mother, family, and friends.
