Hastings High School has been running an open track and Field Invitational of varying formats since 1937. Our goal is to provide you and your athletes with a quality opportunity to compete and enjoy all the sport has to offer.ENTRIES: All entries will be done through . (3 athletes / 1 relay team per event)ENTRY DEADLINE: Thursday, April 15 2021, at 9:00 p.m.PARKING: Buses may park in front of the bus garage, east of the field (Young St.) and south of the bus garage in the designated bus parking area. School will be getting out as you all are arriving. Buses may need to find alternate street side parking after dropping off athletes and then move closer as things calm down. Cars may park in the school parking lots north of the High School.AWARDS: Trophies -- GIRL’S winner and runner-up trophy BOY’S winner and runner-up trophy BOY’S and GIRL’S combined points trophyMedals -- 1st through 6th placesSCORING:We will be using the True Team scoring format. For example with 16 schools represented, first place for individual events will be worth 48 points, second place will be worth 47, and ... First place for relays will be worth 96, second place will be worth 90, and ...STARTING TIMES: Field Events will begin at 3:30 p.m.Running Events will begin at 5:00 p.m. GIRLS HIGH JUMP FOLLOWED BY BOYS HIGH JUMP GIRLS SHOT PUT FOLLOWED BY BOYS SHOT PUT BOYS POLE VAULT FOLLOWED BY GIRLS POLE VAULT BOYS DISCUS FOLLOWED BY GIRLS DISCUS BOYS LONG JUMP FOLLOWED BY GIRLS LONG JUMP LONG JUMP FORMAT: Boys open pit with 3 jumps and no finals from 3:30 to 4:30.Girls open pit with 3 jumps and no finals from 5:00 to 6:00.FIELD EVENT SCRATCHES: All scratches and replacements for field events must be completed 15 mins. prior to the start of the event. These scratches should be done at the field event.PERTINENT POINTS: 1. Please advise fans there will be an admission charge of $5.00. One admission is good for the entire day. Masks must be worn while in the facility. 2. Coaches may check teams in at the East gate upon arrival. 3. Coaches may pick up meet packets at the East entrance gate and make scratches and substitutions upon arrival. Please take care of this quickly as many schools making many changes can delay the start. 4. Please come dressed to participate. There will not be any locker rooms available. 5. No team camps on the infield. Only participants in the Pole Vault, High Jump, and coaches are allowed on the infield area. Ample space for warming-up is available immediately west of the track and just outside the bullpen. 6. Pole Vault and High Jump – The Five Alive format will be used. The event official will reserve the right to move the crossbar up or down to avoid any large delays in competition. 7. Shot & Discus will not be weighed at this event. 8. Starting height for the Pole Vault will be determined based on entries. The first raise will be 1’. 9.The starting height for the High Jump will be determined based on entries. The first raise will be 3”.10. All events will be seeded with the best competitors competing last. An entry with no time, distance, or height indicated will be put in the first round of competition. 11. A Grievance Committee has been randomly selected and will consist of a coach representative from the following schools: Belding, DeWitt, and Vicksburg.12. SCRATCH/ADD– Please fill these out and return them to the press box by 4:00.13. Relay cards will not be used. We will use the names you provide on . If the names change and you want them corrected, please communicate this information in writing to the press box.14. At the end of our meet, while the final scores are being totaled, we will run a Co-Ed Throwers Relay. Participants must have thrown in the Shot or Discus event of the day. Order will be your choice. This event will be non-scoring and medals will be given to the top six places. GOOD LUCK!COACHES NOTES1. We will use strict enforcement of our 10 min. time limit for an excused competitor. The competitor will have 10 min. to be excused for another event (upon approval of event judge). If the competitor fails to return during that time, and their trial is called, they will be charged with a throw or jump. Competitors are encouraged to ask to jump or throw out of order if their next event is coming up.COACHES MEETING AT THE TENT BY THE FIELD HOUSE AT 3:10.A hospitality area will be set up in the same tent during the day for coaches. ................
