Hope you all had a fantastic night. Today is Tuesday, April 7, 2020. It is a sunny and cool day. We will be having are Zoom meeting at 10:00am. In our science lesson, we will be talking about the word force. Great job on your comprehension questions and social studies project! I am very proud of all the work you are doing. Keep it up. Math: Squares and Rectangles

1. Count by 2’s and 5’s to 100.

2. Count on. Start from the number and count up five numbers. No writing just practice counting orally.

3. Identifying Squares and Rectangles

Lesson Objective: identify and name shapes regardless of their orientations or overall size.

1. Identifying Squares: Square Video:

a. Use a colored piece of paper and cut out 10 different sizes of squares. Goal: recognize how shapes can be different sizes. Glue them in your math journal.

b. Challenge: identify the four sides and four corners using the symbols. (circles for corners and two lines to identify sides).

2. Identifying rectangles: Rectangle Video:

a. Make 5 different size rectangles using items in your house. For example: play-doh, pipe cleaners, shaving cream, clay, and paint. If you don’t have any of those items you can cut out different size rectangles.

3. Send me a picture of your math journal from yesterday. Finding squares and rectangles. Thank you.

Math Shelf: 10 minutes

Science: Force

Objective: Understand and identify that force is a push or pull.

a. Blank piece of paper folded into two parts. One side write “pull” other side write “push”

b. Look at the picture of the playground. Draw or write me 1 thing at the playground that you can push and 1 thing at the playground you can push.
