Does it make sense?

I use tools like google etc. a lot, for example to convert units (fahrenheit to celsius, dollars to euros, etc, etc) and for factual knowledge such as the circumference of the earth.

And this is excellent. However, remember to always be critical. Does it make sense?? Need to be careful

-- This is similar to problem solving we do in class; does your answer make sense?

Computer Simulation of Galaxy Collision:

Credit MPA Munich, V. Springel

Time scale billion of years, stars not affected.

Why are we safe from colliding with nearby stars?

In our neighborhood, the distance between stars (several light years ~ 10^12 km) is much, much larger than size of sun

(~7 x 10^5 km in radius).

? Since it's a bit outside the course, I'll calculate the time we have to wait to get such a collision between our sun and another star in the break...
