Purpose: This document is designed to provide information on the County of Berks ? Assessment Parcel

Viewer Web Map Application. This tool is a GIS based application that allows the public the ability to research property and address point information throughout Berks County. The public may use this application to research general parcel assessment data and address point data in the County. The application has the capabilities to search by Owner Name; PROPID (UPI); Mapped PIN (PIN) and Assessment Site Location and it also has the ability to search by the Emergency Services Location Address, Municipality and Postal Zip Code. The application returns selected assessment records and data that exists within the GIS parcel data or address point records that the County recognizes for emergency services. Opening the Application:

This application is a web based application that requires no client software to be installed. All that is needed is a web browser on a desktop, tablet or mobile device. The application is accessible via the public internet at the following web address: . Once a user accesses the page a popup indicating the County's General Terms of Use appears and once the user accepts this opening screen is returned.

The application contains a specified amount of datasets that are necessary for the application to work correctly. Layers in the application are as follows: parcels; address points; roads; municipal and county boundaries; and water features. All of them have been added to provide a user the ability to better locate where they are within the county when using the application to search parcel or address point information. Additionally, aerial imagery from 2016 has been included in the application so the user may view that data against other layers as well. This imagery is only available at certain scales within the application in order to optimize performance. If the imagery does not appear, zoom in on the application for it to become visible. The imagery can be turned on and off with the imagery selector area.

The user will find that a number of tools have been built into the application. They are outlined in the following break outs with a brief description of what task each tool accomplishes. Parcel Search and Help Links: This provides the user access to the Textual based Parcel Search Application that is available at: . The Help link provides access to details about interacting with and using the application.

Widget Toolbar: This toolbar has more detailed tools that allow the users to interact with the application. The individual widgets are outlined as follows

Bookmark: This widget allows the user to zoom to municipality extents that have been setup as bookmarks with this widget. It also allows users the ability to setup their own bookmarks if they choose to do so. Zoom to a section of the map and select the green plus to create and name your own bookmark. NOTE: Personal bookmarks are not permanent; they will be cleared when the browser cache or history is cleared.

Figure 6 ? Bookmark Widget Measure: This widget allows the user to measure, area, length, and get coordinate information in various formats.

Figure 7 ? Measure Widget Print: This widget allows the user to create a template print of an area of interest. The user can select from a series of template sizes, a series of different export formats and can specify to print at a specific scale.

Figure 9 ? Draw Widget Zoom in & Out & Home Tools: Allows the user to interact with the maps and to move in and out to explore various areas of the map application.

Figure 10 ?Zoom In & Out & Home Tools Search Toolbar: This toolbar allows users to quickly search by Assessed Parcels by the PROPID, Mapped PIN, Owner Name or Assessment Location. This additionally allows for the search of the locational address in the structure Address Points. The user can be toggled between search on both the parcel data and address point data; or they can choose to search on both data sets. Examples of Searching:

Figure 11 ? Search Toolbar Popups: The application has also been configured to provide popup access to parcels data and the address point directly within the map portion of the application. All a user needs to do is to be at a scale where parcels or address points are visible and they can left click directly within a parcel polygon or address point to return a small synopsis of the parcel or address point information. The pop up will provide access to a hyperlink which will provide a comprehensive assessment parcel report or return full address point information including full physical address, municipality and associated parcel PROPID and Mapped PIN
