2998470-10604500MUNICIPAL INFTRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT AGENT application for MISA artiSan development SUB-programme The Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent (MISA) in collaboration with the following Stakeholders:Local Government Sector Education and Training Authority (LGSETA) Mpumalanga Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA)hereby offers unemployed FET graduates (between the ages of 16 - 35), three years apprenticeship in Mpumalanga local government sector. MISA is a component of the Department of Cooperative Governance (DCoG) established in terms of Section 7(2) Schedule 3 of the Public Service Act of 1994 (as amended), established to build technical capacity of municipalities to undertake efficient planning, delivery, operations and management of municipal infrastructure, amongst other functions. Whilst the sub-programme is not exclusively limited to individuals from previously disadvantaged communities, MISA strives for excellence in the context of service delivery and skills development and encourages historically disadvantaged individuals to apply. The sub-programme targets unemployed graduates for artisanship in line with the National Skills Development Strategy (NSDS III) and National Development Plan (NDP). The MISA Artisan Development Sub-Programme is a structured 3–year programme focused on recruiting and training young graduates from various Technical and Vocational Education and Training Colleges (TVET) for trade testing as artisans for subsequent employment in local government to support the institutional capacity of host municipalities. Successful candidates will enter into a three-year apprenticeship contract with the Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent and be deployed to municipal technical departments. Opportunities are available in the following trades:-ElectricalPlumbingFitting and TurningDiesel/ Motor MechanicsBricklayerFitterWelderEligibility: FET College graduates meeting the minimum academic requirements in the form of:-N2 certificate including the four relevant subjects of maths, engineering science, trade theory and a fourth subject as required by the trade; or Technical trade theory programs quality assured by a SETA deemed to be equivalent to NQF Level 3; orRelevant Engineering NCV Certificate with seven subjects at NQF Level 3; orTechnical grade 11 with maths, science, language and related trade theory subject; orRelevant (directly related to the trade theory subjects) N6 certificate or National Technical Diploma (T, S, or N stream.)Applicants must be willing and available to undergo 3 year structured training, deployment and rotation to municipalities and TVET Colleges leading towards qualification as artisans. Applicants must be South African citizens and residing within the below-mentioned municipalities. MISA does not guarantee post-apprenticeship employment to graduates owing to participation in the programme.
