2. Translate the following passage into Tamil.

Why do people travel to different countries?

Tourism is important in many ways in the world. It can be for leisure, education, sports or culture. People travel to different countries such as Spain in search of hot weather or to Switzerland for skiing holidays. Others may visit famous historical places such as Italy.

Some people will stay in the cities for a short period to see sites and move on while others stay in one place for a longer period. These types of tourists usually show interest in exploring the local area and learning about culture, traditions and past times.

There is another type of tourist who will travel to different countries to enrich their educational experiences. These people are called 'educational tourists'. They may travel to attend a workshop to upgrade their skills or study a short or long term course.

Many people in Asian countries travel for religious reasons and visit destinations of religious significance. These places include locations like Hajj in Mecca, Varanasi in India, and the Vatican in Rome.

Sport and recreation tourists travel to either take an active part in or just watch sports events. Some of the popular sport events are the Football World Cup and the Olympic Games.

It is evident that tourism plays a vital part in one's life. A wise man once said "You have to travel to see new light, find new hope, renew the mind and revitalise the soul."
