How to Calculate overall GPA

How to Calculate overall GPA

According to the district's Course Catalog, each grade a student receives on their report card is designated a certain grade point value:

*Note: High school level courses such as: Concepts of Engineering, Algebra, Spanish, Tech Apps, etc. are weighted under the Academic Courses scale. (Page 68 of the District Course Catalog)

Each grade on the report card is weighted with the designated grade point and averaged for the six weeks. For NJHS policies students remain in good standings if they receive a minimum of a cumulative (overall) GPA of 3.75. This is found by calculating the grade point average of each grading period and then averaging those GPAs together.
