General Evaluator (GE)As a General Evaluator, your main objective is to increase the quality of the evaluations from a Toastmasters meeting. In order to do this, you will coordinate the Evaluation Team. You will also observe everything that happens (or does not happen, but it should) during the meeting and you will give suggestions of improvement. There are high expectations from this role and at the same time, the rewards are great. The Evaluation Team consists of:Speech Evaluators;Technical Evaluators: Timer, Grammarian, Ah-Counter, Non-verbal language Evaluator (if applicable);Leadership Evaluators; The Audience (We encourage the audience to give us feedback by using the special Feedback Form)There are numerous ways to organize the feedback sessions. You can find below some ideas and tips and tricks.Prior to the meetingBe preparedDiscuss with the Toastmaster of the meeting so that you know the way the meeting will be organized and if there is any difference from the usual format.Contact all evaluators (with at least 3 days in advance) and ask them to confirm their roles, remind them their tasks and inform them about the speakers to whom they will give feedback during the meeting. Ask the Speech and Technical Evaluators, the Toastmaster and Table Topics Master (as well as other interested roles) if they need leadership evaluation. Require the number of the project from the Competent Leadership manual they want evaluation for.Encourage your colleagues to develop their leadership skills! Let them know the importance of exercising their roles, as well as of getting to be evaluated. For this reason, one has to prepare upfront for meeting the objectives of the projects they ask evaluation for. CommunicateSuggest the evaluators to contact the speakers and to discuss their special requests, besides the objectives from the manual. Take care all speakers who requested leadership evaluation have an evaluator. If there are two people asking for evaluation on the same project, even if they perform different roles, they could receive feedback from the same evaluator.
