The following is a record of the major changes made to the Grand Canyon University Academic Catalog from the Summer 2012-2013 (v.1.1) version to the Fall 2012-2013 (v.2.0) version This is not a comprehensive itemization of all of the changes made in this revision cycle, but rather an overview of the more significant updates incorporated into the current version of the catalog.

College Changes

The College of Nursing was renamed the College of Nursing and Health Professions and acquired several programs from the College of Arts and Sciences and the Ken Blanchard College of Business.

The College of Christian Studies was renamed the College of Theology.

Programs/Minors Added

Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in Christian Ministry Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in Special Education Doctor of Philosophy in General Psychology with an Emphasis in Integrating Technology, Learning, and Psychology Doctor of Philosophy in General Psychology with an Emphasis in Performance Psychology Bridge to the Doctor of Business Administration

Programs/Minors Moved

The Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences: Professional Development and Advanced Patient Care program was moved from the College of Arts and Sciences to the College of Nursing and Health Professions.

The Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training program was moved from the College of Arts and Sciences to the College of Nursing and Health Professions.

The Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration program was moved from the Ken Blanchard College of Business to the College of Nursing and Health Professions.

The Master of Science in Health Care Administration program was moved from the Ken Blanchard College of Business to the College of Nursing and Health Professions.

The Master of Science in Health Care Informatics program was moved from the Ken Blanchard College of Business to the College of Nursing and Health Professions.

The Master of Public Health program was moved from the College of Arts and Sciences to the College of Nursing and Health Professions.

Programs/Minors Revised

The Bachelor of Science in Christian Studies programs (all three emphases) were resequenced, switching BIB-355 and MIN-350. In the Minor in Entrepreneurial Studies, ENT-410 replaced MGT-410. The Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with an Emphasis in Health Education and Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with

an Emphasis in Physical Education programs were revised with resequencing of courses and the addition and removal of courses. The Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training program was revised. Elementary Education programs eliminated K-8 language in program titles and descriptions. A minor resequencing of the Master of Public Administration program included a switch out of HCA-525 with HCA-515. Substantially revised version of the Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science program was added for implementation Spring 2013. Completely revised version of the Bachelor of Science in Counseling with an Emphasis in Addiction, Chemical Dependency, and

Substance Abuse program was added for implementation Spring 2013.

Other Changes

Added courses ESL-434, ESL-534, HLT-411, SCI-103, UNV-108, and PCN-662B. Added MBE, MIE, and MWE Private Applied Instruction Secondary course series. Added series of PCN-660E-L Practicum/Internship extension courses. Added MSE Private Applied Instruction major and Secondary course series. Added prerequisites to PCN 520 (PCN-500 and PCN-505) and PCN-306 (PCN-303).

Revised course descriptions for MAT-110 and MAT-134. Deleted previously retired courses. Updated Washington state authorizations language. Added Kansas state authorization. Updated University Administration and Faculty sections, including the addition of online faculty.
