The Child Start Inc

March 16, 2020To: Child Start Inc., Head Start StaffFrom:Patricia Croghan, Director and Brandy Fowler, Board of Directors, ChairThis letter is formal notification in response to the COVID-19 virus pandemic to relay information and guidance over the next two-week period, March 16 through March 27. As advised in our All-Staff meeting on Friday and per protocol, our agency follows local school district closures. The Governor’s office notified the community of a two-week closure period for all public schools in the state that includes our scheduled non-work week Spring Break. We are working closely in collaboration with the Missoula Health Department, DPHHS, CDC, and the Office of Head Start, following their guidance. Today, we met with Montana Directors and our Regional office and discussed how to manage the next two weeks. For staff, we expect you have concerns for your wage and benefits for your scheduled workweek (March 23-March29), the second week of closure. The grant will pay for all wages and benefits for this extended week. Information is changing quickly so we ask that you not call your managers directly, but please call the agency and leave a message. If no one answers, we will get back to you as soon as possible. We will continue to keep you informed, as updates are made and applicable. We would like to support staff and families during this time by offering resources available regarding nutrition and safety. Follow the request of the local police and fire department, do not call 9-1-1. For questions regarding public health call Missoula County Health Department 406-258-INFO. Please take personal responsibility to ensure you obtain accurate information by listening to local news outlets, your employer’s updates, and viewing your employer’s Facebook and website. ................
