FAFSA Day is scheduled for February 22, 2014 at sites across North Carolina. Students may register for FAFSA Day at . This is an opportunity to receive immediate assistance in filing your FAFSA. Mount Tabor High School will offer FAFSA assistance on February 22, 2014 also. Parents and students may receive assistance from 9 am to 1 pm on that day. The Winston-Salem Foundation common application is now open for students to apply. Go to . Click on “Students” and then click on “How to Apply.” Most scholarships require the common application, but some require a separate application process. Read and follow the directions carefully. Most scholarships have a deadline of April 1, 2014.
The Need Based Grant application is due August 15, 2014, but you should apply ASAP.

Criteria: Applicants must be currently enrolled in a JROTC unit within the area assigned to the chapter of the child of a military service member who was wounded or died while on active or reserve duty (preference given toward applicants furthering education leading toward a military career but not mandatory)

FORGIVABLE EDUCATION LOANS FOR SERVICE (FELS) provides funding for North Carolina students pursuing programs leading to careers in areas with critical need, such as nursing, teaching, allied health fields and medicine. PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE SCHOLARSHIP (STATE EMPLOYEES CREDIT UNION)
Criteria: Eligible students are seniors at North Carolina traditional public high schools who have been accepted to one of the 16 constituent campuses of the University of North Carolina; student has demonstrated leadership, excellence of character, integrity, and community involvement; student must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and deserving of financial aid

STATE EMPLOYEE ASSOCIATION OF NORTH CAROLINA (SEANC) SCHOLARSHIP
Criteria: Student and/or parent or guardian must be a member of SEANC; nonmembers whose parents work for the state of NC or are retired from the state may review eligibility information at the web site
Awards: 30 annual scholarships (15 merit-based, 15 financial need) for four-year college or university students
8 annual scholarships (4 merit-based, 4 financial need) for junior, community, or technical college students
