3. Pencil Procedure: 1. The teacher will provide students with an Expository Writing Detailed Graphic Organizer. 2. The teacher will model completion of the graphic organizer (paragraph writing) based on a completed Flagpole Graphic Organizer. 3. Students will write their paragraphs based on their own prompts and completed Flagpole Graphic Organizer. Progress Monitoring: The table below shows demonstrates a way to monitor progress for each student. The first column labeled, "Standards/ Goals" will list the components of the graphic organizer (paragraphs) that students will complete. The second and third columns are used to give a number rating or check for each standard/ goal. The second column, "WC", stands for "Whole Class", which is the portion where the students practice the example with the teacher. The next column, "IP", stands for "Independent Practice", where the students' progress will be evaluated based on their independently completed Expository Writing Detailed Graphic Organizers. The last column, "Notes", is a place where teachers can record additional information about student performance.
