Famous Scientist PowerPoint

This week you will be researching a famous scientist of your choice and presenting it to the class using Microsoft PowerPoint.

Step 1: Choose a famous scientist.

Search the Internet for famous scientists and find one that interests you. Once you have found one, see Mr. Stoelb for permission. This is a first come first get society. Everyone in your class will be researching someone different.

Step 2: Research your scientist.

Find out all you can about them to build your PowerPoint presentation.

Step 3: Build your PowerPoint presentation.

Your PowerPoint must contain the following information:

1. First slide is your title slide. It will contain the name of the scientist, a picture of them, a title of the presentation dealing with the scientist, and your name.

2. Second, you will need to talk about the life of your scientist. Tell me about when they were born, where they lived, their education, and their family (both as a child and as an adult).

3. Third, tells us about their work history. Where did they work, what did they do, who did they work with… etc.

4. Fourth, tells us about their greatest accomplishments.

a. EXTRA CREDIT: Everybody makes mistakes, even great scientists. Find some of their biggest mistakes and share them with us.

5. Fifth, find one of their more famous experiments or inventions and describe the process of completing it. What did they do that lead to their new idea or new invention?

6. Last, if they are no longer living, tell us about their death. When, where, and any information about the cause. If they are still alive, tells us what they are doing now.
