Massachusetts' 50 community health centers are conveniently located in communities throughout the state and offer a wide range of high quality primary and preventive health services -- all in one place.

Community health centers undergo rigorous on-site accreditation visits and regularly exceed national quality and performance standards. Board-certified physicians are trained in a range of primary care specialties, including internal, pediatric and family medicine, as well as gynecology and obstetrics.Additionally, health center physicians have longstanding relationships with well-known academic medical centers and can help their patients access hospital-based specialists when needed.

Patients can also make appointments with dentists and optometrists as well as talk to a mental health counselor, nutritionist or nurse health educator. Many also have on-site pharmacies, mammography and other screening services as well as urgent care centers which can serve patients more quickly if they are sick. Importantly, patients living with chronic conditions such as diabetes, asthma, cancer, addiction or depression, have access to nationallyrecognized programs that can help them better manage their illnesses.
