PASSOVER SEDER MEAL/POTLUCK DINNER On Friday, April 10 at 6pm, we will have an observance of the Passover Seder Meal. We will start with a Potluck Dinner (communal meal) much like families would experience in Old Testament times. Then there will be a narrative of the traditional Passover meal and its significance. Afterwards, there will be a time for questions and answers. Gary David Flamberg, a Messianic Jewish leader in Nashville, will be our facilitator for the event. This will be held at 6pm in the CLC 2nd floor multi-purpose room. Everyone is invited!

IMAGINE NO MALARIA! Lenten offering emphasis United Methodists have been working to eliminate malaria, a deadly killer of hundreds and thousands of adults and children from Africa since 2010. At that time a person died every 60 seconds from the bite of a mosquito. Four years later the death rate was cut to every 30 seconds. In 2014 at Annual Conference Bishop McAllily challenged every church in the Nashville and Memphis Conferences to participate in the No More Malaria! Campaign to eliminate this preventable disease. Your gifts will provide bed nets, medicine and training to health workers. Our Easter offering on April 5th will go to help meet this goal of $1,000,000. Any donation will help and we are making a difference in the lives of our brothers and sisters in Africa. Thank you for your giving!

DOWNTOWN HOME TOUR, APRIL 12 The Nashville Downtown Partnership will be hosting the 12th Annual Downtown Home Tour on Sunday, April 12, from 1-6pm. Two of the tour sites are here on Church Street. Tour attendees will be able to view private residences, homes (condos) for sale, model units and rental units. While McKendree Church is not a residence, we are included as part of life in downtown Nashville.

As people walk down the street, we hand out cookies and a flyer with information about the church and talk with them. We also invite them to come inside and see the church. We need volunteers who will be outside to give out cookies and flyers and talk to people. We also need volunteers inside the narthex who can tell people a little about the church and show them the sanctuary. The tour is from 1-6 pm, but most of the foot traffic will be over by 4pm. If you can help either inside or outside, please contact Ruth Baggett in the church office.

We also need cookies, lots of cookies! Homemade or store-bought, either is fine. They DO NOT NEED TO BE PUT IN ZIPLOCK BAGS. We will put them on trays to be served to our guests. Cookies can be brought to the church (or church office) ahead of time or on Sunday, April 12.

This is an important part of outreach – we want people who move downtown to know they are welcome at McKendree Church!

HELP WITH UMCOR PROJECT The McKendree UMW would like to extend an invitation to the congregation to help with items for UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) relief supply kits. UMCOR kits provide basic necessities to people who have been forced to leave their homes because of human conflict or natural disaster. We are asking for donations of the following items:

hand towels (not kitchen) washcloths

sturdy combs (no pocket combs) adult size toothbrushes

adhesive bandages (common household band aids)

bath size soap in original packaging (3 oz only, no Ivory or Jergens brand)

We are trying to collect enough supplies for 50-100 kits. Donations can be left for Shelley Handy in the Pastor Handy's office. Thank you for your participation and generosity!
